Pretty sure Toyota would be willing to cook up an engine to take RB to the end of their contract. After all, they did have their own F1 team for years, and they have a lot of hybrid know-how. They also have Yamaha, who builds some pretty damn good engines.

I’d love to see a serious Yamaha effort.

WEC, WRC, TORC, NASCAR.
Right, they’re boring.

Actually, that’s not such a terrible idea....
Toyota earlier this year announced for the TS050 that they’re going to a turbo engine and ditching the N/A V8. What if we discover that Red Bull has a long con whereby they always intended to break with Renault in a ugly way (which is unfolding) and never really intended to get Mercedes or Ferrari power as backup and have already a deal with Toyota?
In WEC, there’s unlimited testing so Red Bull and Toyota could develop the engine in the TS050 and get additional mileage for the F1 program. That’d be wild

Only problem is that engine is over double the displacement limit allowed in Formula 1 (3.4L vs 1.6L).

I’ll talk to Bernie on Sunday at COTA, he’ll say yes. I can be very convincing.

As SnapUndersteer said, Toyota is switching to forced induction in the TS050. With a turbocharger bolted on, they can build a smaller engine.

I think they still have a bad taste in their mouth from the last time they tried F1. Plus its a bit late for that now.

Well to be fair, they weren’t very good at Le Mans their first try, but the TS040 was the WEC champion.
